… runs this blog?
My real name? How passé of a question…! Nate Hawthorne, that’s who. Yes, I know… blame my parents, not me. Actually, that’s a good policy in general, not just for names.

Because people have written to me about this, surprisingly to me, I don’t accept sponsored posts or links or whatever and I don’t take submissions. Nothing personal. The point of this blog is for me to have some room to ramble and to help myself maintain the courage to put out flawed writing (because I need to do that to think better; me minus flawed writing is me with less thoughts). Sponsored links and submissions and all that stuff would mess that up for me.

If you’re interested, I co-edit a political blog at http://recomposition.info I think there’s a lot of really good writing there that people should read, which is why I help work on it.

I also write a blog of somewhat more finished political writing, at libcom: http://libcom.org/blog/nate

You shouldn’t be interested unless we’re actually friends, but this – http://whatinthehell.tumblr.com/ – is a tumblr I keep for link dumps, which a) helps me avoid doing link dump posts here and b) helps me keep track of material to get back to at some point later when I’m collecting material on some theme that I hope to eventually write about. And at http://100words.com/ I try to write 100words a day. At least I have been for a little while now. I’m not promising to continue.

Also, some of you have tried to get in touch with me by email. I tried to put a button on the blog but it didn’t work, I’m not good at technical stuff so I’m just putting my email address in a post. If you want to email me, write to crashcourse666[at]gmail.com though of course you have to delete “[at]” and replace it with “@”.
